Directory Assistance / Call Completion
THE CHALLENGE
If you are a wireless subscriber, you are undoubtedly a heavy user of directory assistance. Most likely, your wireless carrier offers directory assistance through a third-party service bureau which means that instead of being connected directly to your desired number, you have to memorize the number and reinitiate the call. If you are driving, this is both inefficient and unsafe.
THE SOLUTION
To solve this problem, Intelli voice, has developed Easy Connect, an innovative directory assistance call completion system. Easy Connect utilizes automatic speech recognition (ASR) technologies.To eavesdrop on your conversation with the directory assistance operator. Easy Connect then "triggers" the carrier's audio response messages. The application works this way. The directory assistance operator first performs the database search for your requested number. A standard prerecorded message is played, such as, "the area code and number is...", or "the toll free number is...." Easy Connect "spots" these standard messages, using a special digit recognition algorithm to capture and store the number that follows. After the directory assistance link is released, you can direct the application to complete the call, either by holding on the line or by responding to a prompt.
Simply put, Easy Connect eavesdrops on your call, then transmits the requested number back to the Mobile Telephone Switching Office (MTSO) switch after the directory assistance connection is terminated. This way, your call is kept within the cellular switching network, and you can drive your car safely while obtaining directory assistance.
