"Off Track Betting" is the answer. Developed by Syrinx, a supplier of automatic speech recognition (ASR), Off Track Betting delivers racing results and other information requested by the caller. This means operators can now concentrate on "mission-critical" betting activities, and you can get accurate and timely results.

Off Track Betting uses automatic, speaker-independent, continuous speech recognition to meet the race track environment's special requirements for vocabulary, accent, and language. For example, you can obtain racing information by asking the system for "yesterday's results" for "Sydney race five". Future application enhancements will enable you to access fully automated betting facilities which will allow you to specify the racetrack, race, type of bet, horse or dog number, amount of bet, and even credit card information, in a natural speaking voice.

Syrinx has used the generic core technology of Off Track Betting to implement real-time recognition of full 16-digit, continuously spoken credit card numbers and naturally spoken money amounts. A large credit card authorization agency in Australia is currently deploying this system, built on the CT platform.
