INTRODUCTION
What is CBMS?
Call Broadcast Management System is
used for scheduling tasks for any future date and for
any period of time. SoftScheduler component enables those
tasks to be performed at the scheduled time.

Scheduler combine powerful features
with well presented in easy to-use environment. This
chapter introduces Scheduler and describes how to start
Scheduler, what you see when you start, and how to end
or quit a Scheduler session. SoftCBMS program will not
run until the scheduler has been setup. It is not necessary
for the scheduler to be running to work with SoftCBMS
but its setup process necessary.
Schedule Tasks:
For adding schedules:
Schedule tasks screen is used for scheduling the calls.
This is the only facility
Given in the Client Versions of SoftCBMS.
1. Type of the task being scheduled
has to be given. It is a compulsory data. This cannot
be empty.
2. Date and time at which the scheduling should begin
and end. This is for specifying the period for which
the call has to be scheduled. This will also be used
to find out whether the call is to be scheduled at a
later date or the call is to be terminated so that it
doesnot occur in future.
3. The name of the person who is scheduling the call.
4. User names and their phone numbers to whom the call
has to be Scheduled. For selecting users first select
either "Users" or quot;Groups" Option
and press the Button marked ">>" preceding
the
Options.
a) If "Users" option has been
selected then a list will be shown with the name and
phone numbers of the users. Here only those users will
be shown who have a phone numbers. Users who don’t
have a phone number will not be shown in this list.
Users can be selected for assigning the calls by
checking the
checkbox on the left of each user. Selected users
with their phone numbers can be seen in the textbox
of the
scheduler screen after pressing the close button.
b) If "Groups" option has been selected then
a list of all the groups is shown on the screen.Groups
can be selected by checking the checkbox on the left
of each group. After the selection click on "Close" button.
A screen with all the users belonging to the selected
groups are shown. Follow the process defined in (a)
for selecting users.
If "Cancel" is pressed the selection is
erased.
5. The type of the message being scheduled.
6. The message, which has to be passed when the call
is made. The messages to be passed can either be
typed in the textbox or selected throughout the button
marked ">>" after
the text box. A screen is shown with a list of messages.
You can select any message by double clicking on the
required message. The screen would be like:
7. Duration at which the call has to be scheduled
next. The options given are:
a) Only one time –This will
make the call only once.
b) Daily – It will call daily from the start
date till the end date
c) Weekly – This will ask for the days of the
week the call has to be made. Any number of days
in any pattern can be selected in a week or all the
Days of
a week can be selected.
d) Monthly – It will make calls as per the months selected. All the
months can be selected or any number of months in any pattern can be selected.
e) Yearly – Yearly once till the end date.
8. Number of times the system has to
try to make a call if the previous dial was not successful.
9. Priority of the call. High will be made first , then
normal and then low. It Only sets the sequence in which,
the calls scheduled at the same time, have to be performed.
10. If the call scheduled was not successful in passing
the message Then it should try again after this period.
11. The tasks scheduled are for making a call out to
the users.
