Introduction
Welcome to SoftDMS , a software that will transform
the way you work in office. SoftDMS is a multi-user Document
Image Processing System that runs on Microsoft Windows.
SoftDMS can scan pages into documents. maintain computer
generated documents (e.g.: Word processor document, Spreadsheet,
database, etc.).
store documents into folders contained in cabinets.
automatically generate indexes based on the full text
of the description given to documents, folders and cabinets.
retrieve information using document/folder/cabinet names
or index searches.
archive documents in the traditional filing hierarchy
of Cabinet-Folder-Document-Page.
add annotations and phrase stamps to documents.
control access to the system through login/password protection.
secure documents in the database by setting read/write
permissions.
distribute documents through email, and user-defined
workflows.
process forms and data files using user-defined templates.
What is SoftDMSMail
SoftDMSMail provides another means for document distribution
among SoftDMS users. A user can pick one or more users
and SoftDMSMail the current document/folder/cabinet
with a subject and a brief message.
SoftDMSMail is useful in an office for ad-hoc distribution
of documents (eg: order processing, incoming fax distribution,
etc).
Any document introduced into SoftDMSMail will be received
by the intended recipients instantaneously. The recipient
will have the option for replying back to the sender,
forward the mail to other users on the system, or just
delete the mail after reading the message.
