Cash on Delivery allows the consignee to make payment for the booked consignment at the time of delivery, rather than in advance.

Cash On Delivery

How Does COD Work?

  • Customer book a consignment on website and requests delivery at the given address. The customer does not make payment while booking the consignment and chooses COD as a payment method.
  • Once the consignment is booked, an invoice is prepared by the carrier which is attached to the parcel.
  • A delivery boy picks the shipment from the carrier or supplier and delivers it to the address provided by the customer.
  • The consignee makes the payment to the delivery boy in cash or card.
  • The COD amount is then deposited to the account of the logistics partner. The logistics company remits the amount to the carrier's account on time after deducting the handling charges.

Advantages of COD

  • Flexible payment options for the customer: you can pay only after you get the product in hand.
  • No online payment frauds: security can be maintained
  • No dependency on payment cards
